Tasmania Police has seized about one kilogram of the drug ice concealed in mail packages entering southern Tasmania, with an estimated street value of $1 million.

The seizure was made in cooperation with Australia Post.
The Southern Drug Investigation Services carried out further searches as a result of the find, and a 25-year-old man and 32-year-old woman have been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.
The pair will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning.
Tasmania Police Commander Tony Cerritelli said it took a significant amount of ice out of circulation and would reduce harm in the community.
