That was exactly what Ms Pyecroft got and less than 48 hours later she had enjoyed afternoon tea with the Australian and New Zealand Prime Ministers in Sydney.
At the event on Friday, leaders of both countries thanked Ms Pyecroft and the team of Australian nurses who went to New Zealand to help nurses and patients after the catastrophic Whakaari White Island volcanic eruption.
"She [Prime Minister Ardern] was just amazing, she couldn't stop thanking us for helping," Ms Pyecroft said.
"I'd really like to say thank you to my hospital for allowing me to represent them and of course, Tasmania and Australia."
