A woman who got lost bushwalking on Higgs Track at Western Creek was found uninjured on Sunday night.

The 51-year-old New Caledonian resident called police at 4.30pm to report she was lost, alone and without a map.
The woman walked to Lady Lake Hut and was on her way to Lake Nameless when she became unaware of where she was and decided not to venture any further because of lightning.

Shortly after the woman began her return journey she realised she was no longer on the right track.
When the woman used her mobile phone to make contact with police, they tried to get her back on the right track but were unsuccessful.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter located the woman at 8.40pm. She was uninjured and flown to Deloraine.
Tasmania Police have again urged bushwalkers to always be prepared and let someone know where they intend to walk to.
