This has left many unhappy with the ticketing process, with a large number of people taking to the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra's Facebook Page to voice their displeasure.
TSO marketing and communications director Samuel Cairnduff said if people missed out on tickets they are encouraged to check in with the TSO box office during the coming weeks as it will be releasing returns as they come in.
In other news:
"If you booked more tickets than you need, please get in touch with us [TSO] on 1800 001 190 between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday. We'll happily take back any tickets that you don't need and actively redistribute them," he said.
The ticket reserving system was introduced last year; this year, individuals could reserve a maximum of six tickets.
Mr Cairnduff said the system was best practice internationally for presenters outdoors to ticket major events in order to understand how to best cater for the audience.
