Maria Island Walk was named in Flight Centre's Wow List of the top 50 travel experiences around the world for 2020.
Coming in at number 36, travellers are encouraged to take a guided hike on the Maria Island Walk.
Some of the key highlights of the island are its wildlife, history, views, and natural spaces, with the list urging travellers to befriend a wombat, stay in the old prison, and learn about the island's original ancestors - the Puthikwilayti people.
Maria Island is a 30 minute ferry ride from Triabunna, and about 2.5 hours away from Launceston.
The Wow List was compiled by an analysis of customer data collected from 800 Flight Centre stores across the country, and aimed to give travellers a unique insight into emerging destinations and travel trends.
Also on the Wow List were experiences such as travelling Switzerland by scenic rail, going caving amid Mayan ruins in Belize, and travelling to Antarctica.
