Strike It Out Feeding the Homeless Launceston founder Kirsten Ritchie said she has two 40-foot shipping containers and ten sleeping pods, which she intends to use as accommodation for the homeless.
"We need to have them fitted out to building standards, which means we need the money to line them, electrical, plumbing all that, so we're trying to raise as much money as we can to fulfill that goal," she said. "We're hoping before next winter for sure."
The Santa photos will run from 12pm to 4pm at Tasmania Stock Photos studio directly above the Mad Apple Cafe, at 122 St John Street. Santa - Lesley Pride, from George Town - will be there on December 5, 6, and 7; December 12, 13, 15; and December 19, 20, and 22.
One photo costs $25, half an hour is $100, and one hour is $200, with pets welcome. Walk-ins are available, or otherwise bookings can be made through the Tasmanian Stock Photos page on Facebook.
