The fire at Mangana was contained about 1.30pm, the Tasmania Fire Service said.
There was no immediate threat, TFS said.
Crews are on site blacking out and patrolling.
But residents are still advised to keep up to date with alerts at fire.tas.gov.au
EARLIER:
Mangana could be at risk from a bushfire in the coming hours, with the Tasmanian Fire Service urging residents to take action now.
The fire has been burning since Tuesday, about 12 kilometres south of the main Mathinna fire.
It is in the vicinity of Calders Gully Road.
The TFS issued a Watch and Act message for the Mangana fire at midday, stating "this fire may put Mangana at high risk [in] two to four hours".
The fire will also be difficult to control, given the high temperatures, and embers, smoke and ash could fall on Mangana.
What to do:
You need to start taking action now to protect your family and your home.
If you are not prepared for a bushfire, you should evacuate now. An Evacuation Centre is being set up in Fingal. You should head to Fingal if you do not have another safe place to go.
If you don't live near Mangana, stay away.
If your family have made a bushfire survival plan, use it now.
