For the People works with various organisations to bolster their presence through design, technology and storytelling strategies. Co-founder Jason Little said the branding of an organisation is far more than simply designing a new logo.

"In a way it's consulting, you're providing research insights and working with the organisation to give them the tools to empower themselves ... to enable them to deliver the change they want to make," he said.

For the People was recently involved in the re-branding of the West Coast of Tasmania, an endeavour that landed them the studio of the year award at the Australian Graphic Design Association Design Awards over the weekend.

The group is also currently working with the Derwent Valley Council on their branding.

As well as having built connections in Tasmania already, Mr Little said the expansion to Launceston was also to add to the design space for creatives that has started to emerge in the state.

"Tasmania's already doing great stuff and there's a bunch of great creative businesses," he said.

"There is a perception that the power of design is a graphic thing. Actually, we're seeing in boardrooms around the world that creativity is playing a greater role in the direction of their business ... we want to add to the conversation around that in Tasmania."

Creative director Jo Roca recently re-visited the West Coast to see how the open-source content they created for to the council was being used.

"When you create an open source brand and you hand it to the community it's only successful if the community is using it ... we were just blown away by how the community's embraced it," she said.
