The case joins a Ferrari 328 Mondial coupe, a Cartier men's watch, and two Louis Wain cubist cat vases among the items either accepting bids or about to be posted by the auction house.
But it is the Louis Vuitton case drawing the most interest, especially from mainland buyers, director Jessie Reid said.
"I've seen these go for auction at twelve to thirteen thousand dollars," she said.
"And you just don't see them in Tasmania - it's rare to see them come onto the international market let alone in Tasmania."
The case is a trunk intended for sea journeys with a fold-out clothes hanger, shoe compartment, and other built-in drawers.
The object is a charming reminder of a bygone era, Ms Reid said.
"It's your case for your high-end sea journey in the 1930s," she said.
"It's not going to go into your overhead luggage."
Bidding closes for the online auction at 7.30pm on Wednesday, at tullochsauctions.com.au
