A Longford committee wants to save the Fred Davies grandstand but the Northern Midlands Council say there are no plans to demolish the structure.

The council refused to comment on specific dates, if the community were informed or how much it would cost to demolish or save.
However mayor Mary Knowles said there were no plans to demolish it.
"Representatives of the Save the Fred Davies Grandstand have been invited by council to present and discuss the future of the grandstand at an upcoming council workshop," she said.
"After which a decision will be made at a council meeting."
Despite the council claiming it has no plans to demolish it, since April the save the grandstand committee have written letters, drawn up plans and attended council meetings to try and save it.
Committee member Steve Todd said it was only luck they found out in April the council planned to demolish it.
"The council didn't want to talk to us really, I think the people really should decide what happens," he said.
"They said the footings are wrong, I said well they're not, I'm a builder and I've been underneath and had a look, they're fine...there's not much to fix."

The grandstand is nearly 100 years old and pays homage to icon Mr Davies, who is the last state premiership winning coach for the club.
The group has estimated $46,000 is needed in supplies to refurbish the structure to make it enclosed and lockable, and has secured local tradespeople offering to volunteer their time.
Committee member Dr Tim Flanagan said Longford was one of the oldest football club's in Tasmania.
"They've played in a few spots but they've been playing on this ground for all the 20th century and maybe before," he said.
"This stand is the last link back to all that...this is where the heart, soul and the spirit is."
Committee member Neil Tubb said they hoped for a positive outcome soon, as they wanted the council to oversee the project.
As the other grandstand redevelopment is a multipurpose facility, he said the football club was now limited to how much memorabilia they could store there.
