Meander Valley Council community officer Vicki Jordan said the initiative was put together by the council a few years ago to bring young people from across the region together.
"We do a whole range of activities taking young people outside their comfort zone and helping them realise they can do far more than they think they can," Ms Jordan said.
"Within it, we run a consultation to see what young people are interested in and how the council can help further their dreams for the community.
"Whether there are any projects they'd like to see get up and running or what their views are of what the valley's like for young people."
IN OTHER NEWS:
There are three camps across different ages groups: high school grades 6-8 as well as 9-12 and finally a group for 18-25-year-olds.
"Quite often our older age groups will come back and work with the younger age groups," Ms Jordan said.
"I often get 18 to 25-year-olds working with grade 9-12s.
"The young people are amazing - some of them are coming in after work just to do nights and some of them take time off work to come in and volunteer for the camp.
"It's quite amazing what the young people are willing to put back into the youth program."
Young attendees at this year's camp will participate in mountain biking and archery among other activities.
"We do trust exercises and teamwork challenges, sometimes cooking challenges," Ms Jordan said.
"It's really bringing young people together and stretching the concept of self."
The groups also discuss serious topics such as youth suicide with psychologists and groups such as the Black Dog Institute.
Spaces are still available for the grades 9-12 camp that runs between October 7-9.
