The SES is urging residents across Northern Tasmania to prepare for high winds and heavy rainfall throughout Friday with the potential for trees to come down and flash flooding.

SES regional manager Mark Nelson said crews were preparing for a busy day.
"The State Emergency Service is working closely with the Bureau of Meteorology to monitor and prepare for tomorrow's forecast conditions," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"People in the forecast areas listed by the BOM should prepare their properties today for heavy rainfall and high winds. This includes clearing drains and gutters to ensure they can flow freely, and tying down loose items including outdoor furniture and play equipment.
"When damaging winds are paired with heavy rainfall, this increases the chances of trees coming down so people must also be aware of this potential."
The most severe weather is expected in the state's far North-East and Furneaux Islands through rare south-easterly winds.
The WAFL Girls Football Gala day, which was scheduled to take place on Friday, has been cancelled due to the severe weather.
The Launceston State Schools Sports Association, the organiser of the event, said in a Facebook post that it would be discussing a potential alternative date in the first half of term four.
