Ulverstone contractor and member of the group Kyle Robinson said the group of blokes had recently conducted similar efforts in providing relief to drought-affected areas in NSW and Queensland.
"We decided we needed to do something down on the East Coast to help," Mr Robinson said.
"It's just a group of mates helping out their fellow farmers really."
Mr Robinson said the group had gathered eight semi-loads, or 150 tonnes of feed with possibly more on the way.
IN OTHER NEWS:
He added he was a little surprised the group had managed to gather so much feed, given the apparent statewide cold start to spring.
"It hasn't been a very warm start to the season, I know we're only a couple of days in ... a lot of blokes here are doing it tough, they're down to their last 50-100 bales," Mr Robinson said.
"It's good to see there's still that camaraderie of trying to help fellow farmers who are doing it a little tougher than what they are."
The feed is being taken down to Swansea, where it will be distributed by the Glamorgan Spring Bay Council.
