The 29-year-old former Moonah man was charged with murder on Thursday and will appear in court at a later date.
Detective Inspector Doug Rossiter praised the work of detectives following an investigation over many months.

Mr Turner, 19, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head on Colebrook Road, Richmond in April.
Three people had already been charged over Mr Turner's death.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at Fingal and charged with murder. A 22-year-old woman and 14-year-old girl were charged with being accessories after the fact.
