Karate tournament director and Tasmania state coach Garth Hall, of Railton, has been involved with the sport for 11 years.
"I mainly teach [karate] now, When I was training it was always a good way to keep fit and keep the mind healthy," he said.
Mr Hall said the tournament was great for students statewide and this year's Tasmanian team is one of the biggest the state's had.
"The tournament's been fantastic for everyone involved, busy and lots to organise but it's really good to see how well the tournament's come together," Mr Hall said.
