Median house prices have decreased statewide over the past three months, according to the Real Estate Institute of Australia's March quarterly report.

The median price in Launceston fell by 2.1 per cent over the period to $342,500 and by 2.7 per cent in the North-West to $275,000.
Despite the slight decline, house prices in Launceston and the North West are above where they were 12 months ago.
Compared to March last year, house prices in Launceston grew by 4.9 per cent and 8.7 per cent in the North-West.
House prices in Hobart have fallen by 1.7 per cent over the past 12 months.
Rental prices in Launceston have seen the least amount of movement compared to other areas of the state with increases of between 2.5 per cent and 18.6 per cent over a year.
