He will meet party members and supporters at a get-together at Ravenswood on Sunday night and on Monday will hold talks with the Launceston City Council and business leaders before heading to Latrobe.
Mr Albanese launched Ross Hart's election campaign. At the close of counting on Friday Mr Hart had 49.59 per cent of the two party preferred vote and trailed the Liberal's Bridget Archer by 570 votes.
"I'm looking forward to visiting Launceston so early in my leadership," Mr Albanese told The Examiner.
"It was only a few weeks ago I was last in town.
"I am determined to engage with people across the country about where we went wrong on May 18 and how we can do better next time.
"I am a straight talker. I'm also a good listener. I am coming to Launceston to listen."
Mr Hart is hosting Mr Albanese's visit and said the new leader was determined to hit the ground running and listen to regional communities.
"Albo is a good mate of mine," Mr Hart said.
"He launched my campaign and I'll always welcome him here to Launceston."
Mr Albanese also will meet with North-West local government and the Cradle Coast Authority on Monday.
He is expected to fly to Tasmania after announcing his shadow Cabinet and Ministry in Sydney on Sunday.
Labor member for Franklin Julie Collins will be a key member of the shadow cabinet.
