Cancer Council Tasmania chief executive Penny Egan said all funds raised at the ball would stay in the state to assist with cancer support and prevention programs.
"Crucially, we also auction the naming rights to three of our research grants," Ms Egan said.
"The grants benefit Tasmanians living with this insidious disease, now and into the future.
"With more than nine Tasmanians receiving a cancer diagnosis daily, we have much work to do, looking after them and their families and friends."
Icon Cancer Centre site manager for Hobart Matt Rundle said the Council was on track to pass 8000 instances of support at its three centres in Hobart, Launceston and Devonport.
"Through the donations of the Tasmanian community and other grants, we now provide a range of complementary programs such as massage, yoga, pilates, mindfulness and exercise physiology," Mr Rundle said.
"Cancer Council Tasmania also provides face to face support, conducts a large number of support groups as well as our statewide wig service."
The Winter Ball will take place on Saturday, August 10, at Wrest Point Casino in Sandy Bay.
This will be the fourth time the ball has taken place in the South of the state.
