The rookies lost its final NAB League trial before joining the competition full-time next year in a 10.4 (64) to 1.0 (6) loss against Oakleigh Chargers on Sunday.
"There was patches of good stuff, but Oakleigh Chargers certainly were too good," coach Trent Bartlett said.
"We probably had not enough contributors across the board as much as we would've liked. Obviously losing nine goals or so is not ideal, but there were still some positive signs there.
"Unfortunately just at the moment, we don't have the continuity of playing games week after week here."
Bartlett said Launceston's Mia King was "just terrific".
The 18-year-old has been leading Tasmania's possession after 16 and 20 touches in the opening two games.
North Launceston's Hayley Breward notched up the Devils' sole goal after the Chargers had the first eight.
"It was good they got a taste. It's exciting from that perspective," Bartlett said.
"It was a little bit disappointing we didn't continue on where we last left off.
"The girls have to learn what the minimum standard we want to set is. We didn't get anywhere near that."
