The survey looks at ways to revitalise the communities.
Consultation about the Northern Suburbs began in August 2018, with mayor Albert van Zetten welcoming the draft feedback.
He labelled the response to the City of Launceston’s Your Voice Your Launceston survey as excellent with 230 individuals taking part across all seven suburbs.
“We believe this sample size enabled the clear identification of a number of common themes and concerns,” he said.
The multi-faceted process began in August last year and gathered information across the 20 talking points including health, housing, infrastructure, public spaces and transport.
Throughout the initial stage, the council conducted community meetings, face-to-face consultations, media events, posters, fliers, social media, as well as a council presence within the relevant community centres, pop-up consultations within those communities.
“iPads were also supplied to the community centres for the duration of the survey,” Cr van Zetten said.
Now the communities have been invited to provide written feedback to the Northern Suburbs Discussion Paper.
“This paper draws together information gained from consultations with the community, as well as workshops with strategic partners, commissioned reports and literature and research reviews,” Cr van Zetten said.
The council is yet to make plans to have a presence in the communities of Invermay, Mowbray, Newnham, Mayfield, Rocherlea, Ravenswood, and Waverley to ensure a wide variety of residents have the chance to contribute to the discussion paper.
But Cr van Zetten said the council would continue to work with the Northern Suburbs communities throughout the development of the My Place My Future Plan into the future.
My Place My Future is part of the Launceston City Deal.
