The Twenty20 match between the Raiders and Kingborough at UTAS Stadium at 1pm will be seeking donations for The Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal.
Raiders chairman Richard Bennett said this weekend’s match presented a great chance for people to enjoy some good cricket for a good cause.
“We [Northern Raiders] have this terrific opportunity to present ourselves as good community citizens and what better way than hooking in with The Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal,” Mr Bennett said.
“We know that the cricket community will look to contribute and so the appeal is a great way for us to be able to do that.”
The match will be the first of three T20 games being held at the venue.
The Northern Tasmanian representative team will also return on January 5 and 6.
“It’s a terrific opportunity for the guys to play on Launceston’s premier facility,” Mr Bennett said.
