The Summer Show includes pastels on paper, digitally edited photography, coloured pencil, oils and acrylics, lino cut etchings, and sculpture.
Curator Margot Baird said there would be something for everyone.
“It’s a cross-section of styles,” she said.
“I wanted to get a mix of very diverse artists and techniques.”
The works are also selected with a future as Christmas presents in mind.
“We do have a lot of smaller works – some of the shows have very large works that people say, ‘oh, I love it but I don’t have the wall space’ – so that won’t be a problem for this show,” she said.
“It’s also a good opportunity to see artists who haven’t had a solo show exhibited.”
Usually works bought at the gallery can only be collected at the end of an exhibition, but Ms Baird is making an exception for this show.
When a work is bought, it will be replaced by another work from the same artist.
“You don’t want to buy it for Christmas and then say to someone, ‘yeah, you can’t get your gift until February’,” she laughed.
“That’s a bit sad.”
Ms Baird has the gallery’s upcoming exhibitions booked in for several years to come, with a mixture of new artists, and new shows from regular exhibitors.
The next exhibition following the Summer Show will be another group show: a collection of landscapes in different mediums.
The Summer Show includes works by Dallas Richardson, David Lake, Dean Hohn, Graeme Whittle, Jim Walker, John Gill, Keith Climpson, Keith Lane, Kim Lehman, Leoni Duff, Margot Baird, Richard Klekociuk and Robert Boldkald.
It opens Friday, December 14, from 6-7.30pm, and will run until February 2.
The gallery will be closed December 22 to January 7.
