The James Scott Decorative Art Society will be holding their first Christmas markets this year, and are calling out for stallholders to get in contact.
Committee member Jan Jarratt said they were especially looking for handmade products, and products made with materials and produce from the local area.
“It’s something special, isn’t it?” she said.
“If you get someone a gift, it’s nice to know its been made by love with someone, and something from our area.
“It’s that special time of year, people are out looking for something a little bit different as a gift.”
IN OTHER NEWS:
She is hoping to get interest from stallholders from around the state, not just from the North-East.
“We welcome anyone who’s got something they want to sell at our market,” she said.
“Unfortunately it’s the same night as the Niche Market in Launceston, but if anyone’s missed out we think we’re the perfect location for them to come for the evening.
“Think specialised or handmade products with a Christmas theme or purpose designed by you or grown by you: creative, edgy, fresh and unique.
“You could be a furniture designer, visual artist, illustrator, fashion designer, jeweller or anyone doing something creative and amazing – if this sounds like you we’d love to hear from you.”
The markets will be held at the James Scott Mechanics’ Institute on December 7 from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.
Stallholder expressions of interest should be emailed to jsdasmarkets@gmail.com prior to December 1.
It’s sure to be a festive night in Scottsdale, with permanent traders also staying open late in a North East Chamber of Commerce initiative.
Meanwhile, those wanting a beachside Christmas should head to Bridport for the Lions Club Bridport Carols by Candlelight.
The night will be held on Sunday December 23 on the Bridport Village Green, with Santa at 6.30pm and carols beginning at 7.30pm.
