The City of Launceston council will ask landowners which sign they would like to remain on their property if they’re displaying non-compliant election signs.

Candidates are allowed one sign per property, not one sign per candidate per property.
The council warned candidates that non-compliant signs needed to be removed by October 12 or they would remove them.
The council’s general manger Michael Stretton said the council had taken steps to remove non-compliant signs.
All council-removed signs can be collected from the Town Hall and re-erected if within the planning scheme.
“We recognise that a lot of effort goes into putting up election signs,” Mr Stretton said.
