Candidates in the electorate are allowed to one sign per property. Those displaying non-compliant signs had until October 12 to remove them before the council said it would remove them, acting general manager Leanna Hurst said.
“Some candidates have removed their non-compliant signage, and we thank those candidates for doing the right thing,” she said.
“A number of others have sought clarity around the regulations and have since indicated their intention to rectify non-complying signs.”
Ms Hurst said she expected all candidates to comply with the regulations by last Friday, however, a number of candidates had not taken their signs down on Sunday.
“It is our intention to remove any non-compliant signs as soon as possible,” Ms Hurst said.
Any signs removed by council staff can be collected from Town Hall.
