Aaron Worker, who plays in the band Raccoon Dogs, is on the waiting list for a heart transplant, and the event aims to raise awareness of the necessity of registering for organ donation.
The free musical day will take place on September 2 at the Bridport Hotel, and will include a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.
Money raised will go towards Aaron’s medical costs.
Organiser Raewyn Black said the event would be a fitting tribute to the talented local musician.
“He’s such a valued supporter of music in this area,” she said. “You can’t stop him from getting up and playing. He plays bass, drums, and he’s got a beautiful voice.”
Music by the Bay has been running for the past 12 months.
“It’s just about an audience supporting new musicians who want to try it out in their community,” she said.
