A three-man independent appeals board deliberated over evidence from opposing parties for about 90 minutes, upholding the NTFA tribunal’s decision.
Perkins, who denied the charge, was last week found guilty of striking Old Launcestonians forward Field Reeves in a division 2 match at Invermay Park in round 14. Reeves required extensive medical treatment as a result of the incident.
NTFA general Reg Lyons said all parties were given a chance to present their cases.
REDLEGS FUTURE
Bracknell will hold a full club meeting on Wednesday night to decide which path to take under the NTFA’s restructure for next season.
As it stands, the Redlegs do not meet the stipulated NTJFA affiliation criteria to become a premier division club. Secretary Nicole Jones said the club was going through the process of whether to join forces with an NTJFA club, or just apply for a division 1 licence which does not require clubs to have a junior affiliation.
