It was a case of the show must go on at the Launceston Competitions on Saturday.
The dance portion of the annual event began on Thursday, with performers set to take to the stage at the Princess Theatre throughout the next week.
While it is not uncommon for dancers to take a tumble, it was the adjudicator who required assistance on the weekend, with interstate judge Kerry-Lynne Hauber sustaining an injury on the morning of Saturday’s schedule.
She eventually managed to take her seat at the Princess Theatre to evaluate groups and individuals across a range of categories.
Launceston Competitions secretary Margaret East said there was no guarantee of everything running smoothly.
“A lot of people don’t understand the work that goes into running the competitions each year,” she said.
“That’s why we are so thankful to our wonderful group of volunteers for all of the jobs they do.
“There are a lovely band of helpers, but we could always use more.”
