The service has been agreed in principle, which means it is not yet definite.
Health Department Secretary Michael Pervan said the service would run for five years and would start in October, on condition that the provider met the required terms, licences and accreditation.
The Patient Transport and Travel Assistance Scheme would allow women to travel from around the state to the service, which will be in Hobart.
The department will raise funding to Prescribed Health Services, and Pregnancy Counselling and Support Tasmania, so long-standing arrangements to support women continue.
“I have compiled a report on termination of pregnancy services in Tasmania, which will be tabled in Parliament on Tuesday,” Mr Pervan said.
