At the City of Launceston Council meeting on Monday, aldermen will make a choice about the park’s new name. Riverbend Park was the recommended decision to put forward to the Nomenclature Board.
The other two names shortlisted were Three Rivers Park and Lettermairrener Park.
More than 160 contributions were made to am online poll to give the park a new name.
Aldermen will also discuss concessional entry values for waste disposal facilities for not-for-profit groups. Charitable organisations will be considered for a subsidy to offset waste disposal charges at the Launceston Waste Centre by up to 80 per cent.
- The meeting will take place on July 2 from 1pm. The agenda is available through the council.
