The project aims for keen knitters and crocheters to get together and create 1000 beanies for those in need during the cooler months.
Project coordinator Skye Brean said they had almost reached their goal, with about 766 beanies completed and more expected to be donated on Saturday.
Mrs Brean said it’s possible the group could complete its goal at Saturday’s meet-up.
“After we reach 1000, we’ve decided to keep going,” she said.
