The four-piece will show a different side to themselves next Tuesday when they perform in-store at Avenue Records.
It is part of a series of acoustic shows to coincide with the release of the group’s fourth album, Stay, on June 22.
Lead singer Tyler Richardson said the idea for the low-key appearance came from wanting to provide a fresh platform for their new material.
“We’ve put more into this album than any of the others,” he said.
“Part of it is getting to try out the new songs live, but mostly we just want to start off the touring right.”
Formed in Hobart more than 10 years ago, Luca Brasi released their debut album Extended Family in 2011, after forming a loyal legion of fans from shows across the state.
The band’s sophomore effort By A Thread was released through Poison City Records in 2014, with the band going on to support the likes of Violent Soho and Bodyjar in tours across the country.
They confirmed their status within Australia’s punk fraternity with the release of 2016’s If This Is All We Are Going to Be, which reached number 18 on the ARIA albums chart. Richardson said the band know exactly what direction they wanted to head in when recording their latest work.
“It was definitely a much nicer process this time around,” he said.
“We had the whole summer to record it and a vision of how we wanted it to sound.
“We like to have everything set to demo before we head into the studio, and then any minor changes tend to come out while we are there.”
The group are set to be given a raucous welcome when they come to Launceston, with their show at Club 54 on August 11 already sold out. Richardson said they felt most at home on tour.
“All we want to do is play shows,” he said.
“We’re not a studio band or anything like that, so we look forward to any time where we get to hit the road.”
