The six Launceston General Hospital colleagues will join hundreds of others in taking the icy plunge at Sandy Bay Beach on June 22 as part of the annual tradition.
It’s not the first time they have bared all for charity, having used last year’s event to raise more than $400 for the Bright Star Foundation.
Sheree White of the group said it made sense to give to the Cancer Council this time around.
“We’ve been a Relay for Life team for the past 12 months, so we’ve already done some fundraising for the cause," she said.
“Last year was a way to test out if people were actually going to support us with donations for doing the nude swim, which they did.”
The group raised more than $7000 in the latest Relay of Life, making them the third most successful Launceston team.
They have since partnered with the Holman Clinic for their fundraising efforts.
Midwife Kylie Burns said it wasn’t hard to find motivation for the solstice swim.
“If people can go through cancer, then we can do this,” she said.
