Opened on Sunday, the event showcases a wide range of styles, including acrylic painting, glass jewellery, felted clothing, ceramics and pastel work.
Telita’s Pam Osborne has had her pastel art displayed as part of the exhibition for the past five years.
She said there was a “nice cross section of artists and locals” at Sunday’s opening.
“There were more people than there usually is and some absolutely beautiful work on display,” she said.
A former school teacher, Ms Osborne has been creating pastel works since she retired 12 years ago.
Water is a common theme within her art, which has previously depicted parts of the Tasmanian coast.
She said the ever-changing nature of the ocean was part of its attraction.
“I am unashamedly a realist artist, and I love doing everything from lakes through to the sea,” she said.
“The colour, movement and light of a changing water system always draws me in.”
Osborne complements her own work with assisting others in the genre, taking in students on a weekly basis.
She will join other artists at the Scottsdale Art Gallery Cafe on the June long weekend for the residence portion of Gestalt.
They include Fenwick Makepeace (ceramics), Julie Wickham (pastel painting), Sandra Snow (glass jewellery) and June Hope (felted clothing).
First opened in 2005, Scottsdale Art Gallery Cafe has since built a reputation for exclusively featuring Tasmanian artists across a wide range of mediums.
Gestalt is one of many regular major exhibitions held throughout the year that feature works from an individual artist or group of artists, with the extensive stock frequently revised.
Please contact Scottsdale Art Gallery Cafe for times of each artist in residence during the June long weekend.
Gestalt 2018 continues until Sunday, August 12.
