The survey is a requirement of all public hospitals to maintain accreditation through the Australian Health Service Safety and Quality Accreditation Scheme.
The assessment ensures hospitals meet the health standards set by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.
The LGH survey was conducted over four days last week by five representatives from the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards.
Health Minister Michael Ferguson said accreditation was a regular process for hospitals with “rigorous” standards to be met.
“It is how our hospitals understand what they need to do to deliver the very best in service,” he said.
“The government certainly expects the accreditation process to be useful in helping us to improve our public health services.
“The survey process is still underway and expected to take several months to finalise, including addressing any identified issues.”
