Alarms were raised after the boat was reported as overdue to Tasmania Police about 2pm.
A search was conducted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Marine Rescue, and Dodges Ferry Life Saving Club.
The five-and-a-half metre-long catamaran was located overturned in Frederick Henry Bay.
The two people were winched to safety.
