Under the $20 million scheme, Tasmanians can apply for $10,000 no-interest loans, in the form of a Westpac credit card, for energy efficient products for their homes and small businesses.
Loans can be used to buy energy efficient heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage, efficient wood heaters, efficient hot water systems, insulation or any energy-saving products.
Energy Minister Guy Barnett said the scheme will now run until April 20, 2019, or until the $20 million pool has been taken up.
Sustainable Living Tasmania executive officer Todd Houstein said one of the most significant barriers for consumers to achieve energy efficiency was the upfront cost.
The current scheme has distributed $18 million in loans to 2295 applicants.
Heat pumps, solar panels, and solar power battery storage systems were the most popular products obtained through the loans.
