The Road Safety Advisory Council’s new campaign, We’ve Been Everywhere, aims to encourage safe road use by promoting the high possibility of being caught if driving unsafely.
Tasmania Police Assistant Commissioner Glenn Frame said the campaign was about sending a message to all road users.
“We want everyone to get home safely and to ensure that, we have to make sure everyone use the roads safely,” he said.
The campaign features a television commercial that will be shown on the Tasmania Police Facebook page and YouTube, online and radio advertising, as well as targeted variable message signs.
It will be used during Operation Crossroads at Christmas and Easter, as well as long weekends.
It coincides with The Examiner’s In Your Hands campaign, which will highlight the importance of road safety in the community.
