Singer Michaela Young is a soloist in the upcoming performance of Mozart Reqiuem at the Longford Christ Church.
Having previously sung at the Estates Theatre in Prague where Mozart premiered his opera Don Giovanni, she said she didn’t have to look far for inspiration.
“I feel a very strong connection with Mozart,” she said.
“HIs Requiem is one of his most beautiful pieces of music.
“I’ve never performed it, so this is a dream come true.”
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was in the process of composing his Requiem in D Minor when he died on December 5, 1791.
The mysteries surrounding his final piece have been debated ever since.
It will be given a new interpretation on October 29 when Ms Young joins fellow soloists Leonie Gryte, Benjamin Martin and David Butler in leading the Evandale Village singers through the iconic piece. The performance starts at 2.30pm.
