Leslie Turner went to check on his beloved goats at his Bellingham property on Monday morning, as he does every day, and found one of them lying in the bush, dead.
The offenders had taken the pregnant female, slit its throat, cut off its legs and tossed its body aside.
Mr Turner’s daughter reached out to the public on Tuesday night, asking for help in finding those responsible for the “pointless act”.
Abbie Turner said her dad “loved his goats” and was “absolutely devastated”.
“Dad said if you’re going to eat goat, you’re probably going to eat from the legs so maybe that’s why they did it but we’re just guessing, we really have no idea,” she said.
“The fact that she was pregnant with twins just makes it so much worse.”
The incident comes a week after Mr Turner lost another one of his female goats when it died suddenly.
He is now left with just one out of his three females and his billy goat, which Ms Turner said was her dad’s best friend.
“He loves his animals, he loves his goats,” she said.
“He is really worried they’re going to come back for the other goats.”
The family are offering a $1000 reward for information that results in a conviction.
A person found guilty of animal cruelty in Tasmania faces a fine of up to $26,000 and up to 1.5 years in jail.
