It is the first round of grants available under the scheme for local activities that promote healthy lifestyles in communities around the state.
Grants of up to $25,000 are available to support healthy eating, physical activity, and quit smoking initiatives.
“The whole-of-government preventive health plan aims to make Tasmania the healthiest population in Australia by 2025,” acting Health Minister Peter Gutwein said.
“Communities are encouraged to identify specific areas they want to address and how potential new activities will support or fill gaps in current approaches.”
Community groups can apply for up to $25,000 for a project lasting up to 12 months.
Applications close 5pm, September 15, and funds will be available in October and November this year.
