They are a respectful, motivated and driven group of people
- Ian Wright
They completed the 13-week program at StGiles, and received their certificates on Wednesday.
“They are a respectful, motivated and driven group of people who demonstrate a genuine interest in working with people living with disability,” StGiles chief executive Ian Wright said.
Mr Wright said Pathways to Employment program focused on work readiness and key core competencies training for work within the disability and broader community services sectors.
There were 15 program participants who applied for a job at the end of the course. Thirteen of them were successful, with another requiring some additional training and development.
“This is a great result for StGiles and the people who use our services,” Mr Wright said.
The program was funded by Skills Tasmania.
The second course begins next week.
