Group founder Lisa Bird, who lost her son Josh in a car accident in 2008, said sometimes reflection is often needed away from everyday life.
“There was a whole group of parks that the council gave a us a list of but this one is a bit quieter, there is free parking and people can have a little more privacy if they need it,” she said.
“It’s somewhere for parents to be able to go and reflect, especially if they don’t have a child in the cemetery, if it’s not nearby … for a lot of people the cemetery is not the go, for me it’s not somewhere I like.”
Bittersweet is hosting a garage sale on Sunday opposite the Esk Market.
