The band were placed third on a new list of the best Like a Version performances broadcast on Triple J in 2016.
Popular Australian music website FasterLouder compiled the list, which also includes performances from Sarah Blasko, Violent Soho, and others.
“We were absolutely stoked to be placed that high on a list of so many ridiculously good Like a Versions this year,” Luca Brasi frontman Tyler Richardson said.
“It's a pretty big honour.”
The Like a Version segment runs weekly, and was first broadcast in 2005.
Each segment features a notable artist performing a cover version of their choice. For Luca Brasi, the Paul Kelly cover was a no-brainer.
“Paul's collectively one of our favourite songwriters, and one of the greatest songwriters of all time,” Richardson said.
“[How to Make Gravy] is like a national anthem, so we went into it thinking, 'If we stuff this up, there's going to be some very angry people.' We're pretty happy that it went the other way.”
Luca Brasi’s latest album If This Is All We’re Going to Be is available through Poison City Records.
