The mother-of-three has not spoken to her youngest son, Nazrawi Samson Woldemichael, since September.
The 20-year-old was last seen leaving his unit at Trinity House in North Hobart on October 9 and has not been heard from.
Since that day, his mum has searched far and wide, plastering posters across Launceston this week in hopes of finding her “baby”.
“As a mother, sometimes I think the worst, I try to be positive … but when I finished doing the signs in Launceston, coming home to Hobart without him … it’s very hard,” she said.
“I am putting signs up across the state, every day.”
Nazrawi suffers from mental health issues as a result of a brain injury he received during a car accident in 2014.
His mother said she believed he may be paranoid and stressed at the thought of police looking for him.
“He’s a quiet shy guy and he’s very sensitive. He would rather be hurt than hurt someone else and keeps his problems to himself,” she said.
“I just want to be able to tell him to come back to us and we can deal with whatever he is going through.”
The last time Nazrawi was with his family was for his sister’s 26th birthday on August 12 and since his disappearance, his own birthday has passed.
“I spent [his birthday] crying,” Hirut said.
“I just want to find my son. I want him to know that we love him and we miss him and that our life won’t ever be the same without him.”
Tasmania Police said there had been several unconfirmed sightings in the North Hobart and Hobart CBD areas.
Nazrawi is about 170cm tall, of thin build with curly short black hair.
