The St Patrick’s College student was announced as the winner of the Tasmanian Triochron Industries Physics Prize this week for his essay on the paradox of time travel.
The competition challenges students to discuss the paradox and draw a conclusion.
Isaac said he had really enjoyed the challenge.
“The prize mainly encouraged breadth of research and creativity, and I found a range of interesting things, like the timeline protection hypothesis where the timeline protects itself,” he said.
“So everything that’s already happened, has already happened.
“I spent about four days just reading a lot of stuff and watching a lot of videos and then eventually writing the essay.”
Isaac worked with his classmates and science teacher Bill Halliday to discuss the topic.
He plans on continuing his science studies by studying surgery at university.
