The system – which rendered the whole of South Australia powerless on Wednesday night – moved further south on Friday, after crossing over Tasmania’s North-West and North on Thursday.
Just four people in the state’s North required State Emergency Service assistance – but it was a different story in the Huon Valley and Hobart.
About 60 people sought the assistance of the SES, with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter required to retrieve three adults and two children, who were trapped on a field along Wilmot Road at Huonville.
For assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
