In what promises to be a sign of things to come, Quadrant traders opened their doors onto the street as visitors enjoyed live music and a pop-up bar until late in the evening.
The Dinner Belle owner Georgie Galloway said she was thrilled to see nightlife making its way into the Quadrant Mall.
“It's looking really lovely out there,” Mrs Allen said.
“We were really fortunate to come in just before all the works finished so we really love that we've come into a place that's so fresh and bright and it's just full of people tonight which is lovely to see.”
Holy Guacamole’s Freya Allen agreed the upgrades had made the mall “more inviting”.
“It's really speccy, it brings a lot more to the area and makes it a bit more attractive for people to even just walk through,” Miss Allen said.
Celebrations will continue on Saturday.
