“She kisses each one goodbye,” Ms McLeod said.
Friends in the Leaves began about eight years ago after Ms McLeod saw toymaking on a blog.
“I bought fabric and a sewing machine and just had a go,” she said.
Naturally artistic, Ms McLeod took to the craft of toymaking quite quickly.
“It took me three times to get something I liked, the first two toys were a bit funny looking,” she said.
Something which started as a hobby has now transformed into a full-time adventure for Ms McLeod. The ‘big friends’ range were all unique, each toys is given an individual name and varies in looks, but Ms McLeod also offers a plush range.
She prides herself on producing high quality toys by using 100% wool felt, strong cotton or Shannon minky. All toys are CE certified making them safe for children. Ms McLeod and her furry creations will be at the Tasmanian Craft Fair from November 4 to 7. For more information visit friendsintheleaves.com.
