The 36-year-old father was shot dead in his East Street home on August 2, 2009, but his murder has never been solved.
Yesterday, police released closed-circuit television footage of a ute that could hold the key to the crime.
Brother Paul Barker said he hoped this new piece of evidence would lead to the breakthrough they had been waiting for.
"Please come forward," he said.
"We have had three years of grief and it's not getting any better.
"We just need closure, and next to having Shane back an arrest is as good as it's going to get."
Detective Inspector Scott Flude said police had recently received information that confirmed that the white Toyota Hilux ute, captured on CCTV footage in 2009, was a vehicle of interest in the investigation.
"It was last seen heading south on the main street of Campbell Town," Detective Inspector Flude said.
"This new information will again be explored and police are appealing once again for anyone with information about this matter to contact them."
Detective Inspector Flude said police were following a new line of inquiry, but would not elaborate.
"Police expect to release more new information in relation to this in the next few days," he said.
The investigation has remained open since 2009, but Mr Barker said he was beginning to despair his brother's killer would ever be found.
Mr Barker said the release of the CCTV footage yesterday gave him renewed hope that someone would come forward and provide the missing puzzle piece.
"One little thing might help solve this crime," he said.
"It would be a great Christmas present."
There is a ,000 reward for information on the murder investigation.
